In April, it was announced that Video4, AVIT-Systems, and Mediateket would be merged under common ownership, with Atlantis Vest as the new majority owner. For many years, all three companies have independently supplied equipment, solutions, and services to the media production market in Scandinavia, but the desire to meet customers’

Streamlining the Companies It is now clear that the new group will be called Mediability and will be led during a transitional period by Trond Valvik, Chief Investment Officer at Atlantis Vest. Video4 and AVIT-Systems’ operations in their respective Scandinavian countries will be merged to form Mediability Norway, Mediability Sweden, and Mediability Denmark. Mediateket, which will remain a separate unit within the group, will change its name to Mediateket Consulting.

“The choice of names signals a clear specialization among the companies in the group. While the businesses that will carry the Mediability name will focus on products, equipment, and system deliveries, Mediateket Consulting will now become a purely independent consulting firm,” says Valvik.

A Natural Evolution for Mediateket Mediateket’s CEO, Gro Setereng, will also lead Mediateket Consulting and will join Mediability’s executive management team. Co-founder Jørgen Scheel will continue in his role as Chief Technology Officer.

“This has been a completely natural evolution for us as a company. In recent years, we have streamlined our consulting business and placed greater emphasis on our role as a service provider. Now we can fully dedicate ourselves to this, while—as part of a larger group—we will be able to offer a significantly broader range of services to new and existing customers,” says Gro Setereng.

In 2015, the companies in the Mediability Group had a combined revenue of just under 300 million kroner and just over 70 employees. Setereng believes this positions the company to become an even better partner for customers looking for service providers with substance and stability.

Presence in All Scandinavian Countries Mediateket Consulting will continue to maintain an office in Sandvika, outside Oslo, while its sister company, Mediability Norway, will have offices and a presence in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, and Trondheim. Mediability Sweden will have offices in Stockholm, while Mediability Denmark will have offices in Copenhagen and Aalborg.
