Our Summer at Rieber & Søn
This summer, we were fortunate enough to spend six weeks as interns at Rieber & Søn. From our very first day at Kalfaret, we were greeted with warm smiles, open doors, and a genuine interest in who we were. Throughout the summer, we have worked on a wide range of tasks for both the investment team and several of the portfolio companies. Our work has ranged from market analyses and strategic assessments to financial modeling and identifying new areas of opportunity. The projects have varied in duration; some have spanned the entire period, while others have been short and intense.
What we’ve perhaps appreciated most is the freedom we’ve had to shape the projects as we’ve gone along. Rieber & Søn has trusted us to interpret the challenges in our own way, test ideas, and find solutions we could stand behind. This trust has allowed us to grow both professionally and personally, and it has been incredibly motivating to see that our work has actually been put to use, sometimes even while the projects were still underway.
Just as important as the work itself have been the people we’ve met. We’ve had many great conversations over coffee, received help and advice when we needed it, and shared plenty of laughter both in and outside the office. Social dinners, spontaneous hikes, and breaks together have made us look forward to going to work every single day.
As we look back on the summer, we’re left with the feeling of having been part of an environment that combines professionalism with warmth and openness. We’d like to thank everyone at Rieber & Søn for giving us the opportunity to learn, contribute, and feel like a natural part of the team, and for a summer we’ll remember for a long time.
