A summer to grow!

It was an excited group that gathered at Kalfaret in mid-June 2024. This summer, we’ve had the pleasure of serving as interns at Rieber & Søn, and we’ve had the opportunity to work on a number of interesting and educational projects for their portfolio companies. A summer to grow!

We have been responsible for carrying out tasks for the investment team at Rieber & Søn, while also assisting several of the portfolio companies with relevant projects. Our work has included screening and analyzing companies, conducting market analyses, performing strategic assessments, and developing reporting models.

The projects we’ve worked on haven’t had clear-cut answers, and Rieber & Søn has given us the freedom to interpret, carry out, and solve the tasks on our own. This allowed us to apply our knowledge and creativity across various areas of expertise.

Toward the end of the internship, we also had the opportunity to present our findings and recommendations to the portfolio companies. The feedback we received after these presentations was very instructive, and we are left with the feeling that our work has made a real difference. It is particularly gratifying that some of the projects have already been implemented by the portfolio companies.

A strong sense of camaraderie has also developed among us interns, and there have been many social activities and initiatives both during and outside of work hours. Dinners, hiking trips, games, and more have created a great atmosphere, and we’ve looked forward to going to work every day! It’s also been really nice to get to know the other employees at the company, and that’s made it easy to ask for help whenever questions have come up.

It has been an exciting experience to gain insight into how a forward-thinking investment firm like Rieber & Søn evaluates both new and existing investments. Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rieber & Søn for a fantastic summer!
