Our securities investment activities are managed from Bergen and Singapore, under two separate investment mandates. This allows us to capitalize on various market opportunities and combine local insight with an international perspective.
We take a flexible approach to investing and are not limited to specific types of instruments or asset classes. This gives us the freedom to evaluate various investment opportunities and select the instruments and structures best suited to each individual investment.

Bergen and Singapore
Bergen
From Bergen, we invest primarily in liquid, publicly traded European stocks and equity funds. The portfolio is concentrated in a small number of companies.
We also make some larger, case-based investments in the Nordic region, which from time to time may involve relatively large equity stakes.
A larger Nordic bond portfolio is managed externally.
Investment decisions are made by dedicated teams at Rieber & Søn, working closely with the markets we know best.

Singapore
In 2015, we established a dedicated investment unit in Singapore. Our investment activities are twofold and include unlisted investments in the energy sector in Asia, as well as listed investments globally, with a focus on Asia.
The listed portion consists of an active trading portfolio, in which extensive use of derivatives and foreign exchange (FX) are key tools for achieving a reasonable risk-adjusted return.
Our proximity to Asian markets provides new impetus and a global perspective that also benefits our other investments.
